Before your visit

What should I expect at my first chiropractic visit?

Start with a conversation about your symptoms, health history and what you would like to do more comfortably. An assessment helps determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate. Ask the office about the visit format and duration when scheduling; an appointment does not automatically mean an adjustment will be performed.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Have a list of your medications, relevant health conditions and previous care available. Ask the office whether to bring existing imaging reports, insurance details or injury-related paperwork. You do not need to arrange new imaging just to prepare for a visit.

Which office should I contact?

Choose the office that works for you: North Hollywood at (818) 760-6776, or Rancho Santa Margarita at (949) 888-4802. Confirm your appointment location and that office’s current hours before traveling.

How do I request an appointment?

Call your preferred office or use the contact page. The email option prepares a draft in your own email app; you must send it there. An inquiry is not a confirmed booking. The practice will arrange the appointment details with you.

Is a complimentary consultation available?

The practice’s existing website advertises a complimentary consultation for new patients. Call to confirm current availability and what is included. Do not assume that an examination, imaging or treatment is covered by this offer.

Does the practice accept my insurance?

Coverage and participation depend on your plan and the service. Call the office with your insurer and plan details, and ask your insurer about benefits, network status, authorization and out-of-pocket costs. No specific insurance plan is confirmed on this website.

How much does a visit cost?

Ask your chosen office for current fees and what the quoted appointment includes before scheduling. Discuss possible examination, treatment and follow-up charges separately. This website does not publish verified prices or payment-plan terms.

Do I need a referral?

Ask the office and your insurer whether a referral or prior authorization is needed for your situation. Requirements can vary by coverage and the type of visit, particularly for work-related injuries. We do not assume that a referral is either always required or never needed.

Will I need an X-ray or other imaging?

That decision depends on your history, examination and clinical findings. Imaging is not a booking requirement on this website. Discuss whether it would help guide your care and where it would be arranged; onsite imaging availability has not been confirmed.

About your care

How many visits will I need?

There is no single schedule that fits everyone. Ask about the proposed goals, frequency, reassessment points and expected costs after your assessment. Progress, preferences and clinical findings should guide further decisions; this website does not promise a fixed recovery time.

Which chiropractic techniques does Dr. Berjis use?

The practice lists Diversified, Thompson’s, Activator and Flexion Distraction. The choice of technique depends on individual assessment and a discussion of options, potential benefits and risks. Read more about chiropractic care.

Can I discuss neck pain with the practice?

Yes. Neck concerns are among the services described by the practice. Describe when the pain began and whether it follows an injury or travels into an arm. An assessment helps determine the next step. Ask about the benefits, alternatives and risks of any proposed neck treatment, including rare serious complications associated with manipulation. Read NCCIH’s overview.

Is chiropractic care an option for lower back pain?

Spinal manipulation is one option that may help some people with lower back pain; it is not suitable for every cause of pain. Your history, symptoms and preferences matter when choosing care. Discuss expected benefits, risks, alternatives and how progress will be assessed. Read the evidence overview from NCCIH.

What if pain travels into my leg?

Pain traveling down a leg can occur with sciatica, but the symptom alone does not establish a diagnosis. Describe any numbness or weakness as well as pain. New bladder or bowel changes, or numbness around the groin, need emergency assessment. Learn about sciatica.

Can I arrange a visit after an auto accident?

The practice lists auto accident care. When calling, explain when the collision occurred, your symptoms and any medical evaluation already completed. An office appointment does not replace emergency care for a serious injury. Ask which records the team would like you to bring.

Does the practice see work-related injuries?

Work injuries are listed among the practice’s services. Call to discuss your concern and ask about scheduling and any paperwork or authorization needed for your particular claim. This website does not confirm workers’ compensation network participation or claim acceptance. Prepare for a work-injury visit.

Is massage therapy available?

The practice lists massage therapy. Ask your chosen office about current availability, session format and cost. Discuss existing conditions and recent injuries before treatment. Massage may offer short-term relief for some types of discomfort, but benefits vary. Read NCCIH’s patient guide.

When should I seek urgent care instead of booking a routine visit?

Seek emergency care for back pain with new bladder or bowel changes, numbness around the groin, symptoms in both legs, chest pain or a serious accident. Call 911 if you need emergency assistance. Sudden severe or rapidly worsening pain, or pain with fever or feeling unwell, needs prompt medical assessment. Do not wait for a website reply. Source: NHS back-pain guidance.
